The physical retrieval approach of DROACOR® supports this goal in an optimal way as acuisition time, location and state of the atmophere are accounted for automatically during the processing.
Moreover, the vegetation index calculation tool in DROACOR® supports the creation of vegetation products in a smooth way based on the calculated reflectances.
Specim AISA-FX Vegetation Indices
The image example show the difference of the green excess index if applied to non-atmospherically corrected imagery in comparison to DROACOR® reflectance. While the relative distribution remains the same, the absolute values differ significantly. This may lead to errors if comparing the vegatation index results beetween dates, times, or sensor types.
